One of the panels I enjoyed most at FOGcon was "Mutations, Their Gifts and Betrayals: Embodiment in the World(s) of the X-Men" (not even because one of my friends proposed it)--it was actually really interesting. Being me, I made more than a few comments during the discussion (though I virtuously did not bring up mpreg as Charles Xavier's secondary mutation, I'm quite virtuous), and afterward, when we were walking back to the BART, troisroyaumes and epershand were both like, "Dude, I didn't realize you'd read so many X-Men comics!" and I was forced to explain that no, I haven't read hardly any of the comics (except for Marvel 1602, which copperbadge rightfully and hilariously savaged in this recent post), just the Wikipedia articles, at a scary and obsessive depth.

Well, I'm back. California is beautiful, for the record, and despite some baggage folderol secondary to SEA being one of the most inefficient airports I have ever encountered (and that's saying something), my travel was pretty good. I even saved the $50 baggage fee Alaska was supposed to charge me, which I suppose is a virtue of experience. And learned paranoia.

NPM/3W4DW - Narnia poem-fic, "From the Collected Works of Solwing: 'England'"

I was saying to oliviacirce and epershand that I wanted to read epic Narnia fan poetry, and hadn't really found any…but then I took a stab at writing it myself, though in length at least it falls far short of the epic. So! This is 3W4DW content for the time being, but also a poem for National Poetry Month, written by yours truly. As some readers may realize immediately, it was inspired by and ties in with bedlamsbard's Warsverse timeline, and as such it relies on BB's seasonal associations and popular titles for the Pevensies.
