starlady: Uryuu & Ichigo reenact Scott Pilgrim (that doesn't even rhyme)
The wisdom teeth saga continues apace: I went back to the oral surgeon for my follow-up on Wednesday and was given a syringe so I can syringe mouth wash directly into the holes in my gums. If all goes well, though, I won't ever have to go back.

Now that my wisdom teeth are no longer crowding out my other teeth I've attempted to restart wearing my retainers. The top one still fits, but the bottom one is actually too different from what has happened to my teeth to fit. Sigh. Stupid wisdom teeth.

Also on Wednesday, I got a new computer! It is a refurbished June 2012 15" MacBook Pro and it is very shiny and very fast and I did not pay for it (my Awesome Professor did, out of her grant money). I have still not fully finished remaking it according to my specifications--I migrated my data from my old MacBook, which was very convenient, except it forced me to create a second user account, which was very stupid, so I spent a lot of time recopying my data from the one user account to the other. Also for some reason it now automatically logs me in to the other user account, which is also stupid. Luckily, however, I have a 750GB hard drive (!), so I have plenty of space to play around with double copies of, you know, my entire music and photo libraries. Argh, Apple.

I took the excuse of being somewhat high on Vicodin for part of last week to watch Elementary. I have the last two episodes left now and it is SO GOOD. I love this show so much, it is pretty ridiculous.

I am also reading Cold Steel and it is so great. I had a really great time going out to the Kate Elliott/Katherine Kerr book event at Borderlands on Thursday with a crew of awesome people--we had tapas and sangria beforehand and pie afterward, and it was pretty great. And luckily it was before the BART strike that is probably going to happen tomorrow, so even better.
