Not entirely a non-issue, but as I understand it there was a strong live-and-let-live ethic on the frontier, compounded with an element of don't-ask-don't-tell. One writer, I forget who, made the comment that it's telling that most recorded instances of antisemitism were against rich Jews, industrialists and bankers and the like, while most Jews in the West were small shopkeepers, small ranchers/farmers, miners, and various other working class occupations.
