Haha, well, we are different people. Also cnet unquestionably does more translations than I do, and tends to prioritize a very conversational style. I have to remind myself to be conversational, and I still usually am more on the literal side of the line.
This line was the stumper of the chapter, I admit. There's an ambiguity (almost certainly intentional) as to whether Himawari is actually talking about gloves or whatever being handed over (in which case I'd translate the verb as "receive") or metaphorically about herself crossing over. Both senses come through in the Japanese; it's harder to think of an English line that captures both, at least for me. That said...I may change it.
