I saw a production of this done by an almost all-white cast that I HATED. LOATHED. Trying to remember, I am not sure if the script also had the kind of significant flaws that the direction, acting, and choreography had, but I am very meh about white writers representing 'the orient' in general, so was biased against the play from the start.
