Doctor Who 6x02, "Day of the Moon"

So I'm watching Doctor Who now! And it's awesome! No one is surprised.

Me: "The Hoover Dam? Seriously?"
Roommate: "Well, they have a budget now!"
Me: "I suppose, since they haven't gone to America at all for the past forty years, they're trying to hit all the highlights."
Roommate: "Yes, since they spent a lot of the last forty years in Wales, for their sins."

It was funnier at the time.

Things I was right about: Amy not actually being pregnant, except now she is! Quantum pregnancy! Also about Delaware wanting to marry a (black) man. Delaware, you are awesome! You can join the TARDIS any time.

Other things: Nixon ex machina! Also, I sort of don't feel like the show managed to completely erase the sympathy I had for Nixon unwillingly from the first part of the last episode, not even with the David Frost and Tricky Dicky references. Also, now we know why the taping. No bets on what the missing 18 minutes were talking about.

The orphanage was about as creepy as I remember The X-Files being, which is both a tribute and a, well, I can't really think how the show could be more X-Files at the moment, next week's Pirates of the Caribbean episode notwithstanding. We still haven't resolved the Doctor's death: I'm inclined to give my "we're in a third time loop that subsumes the other two!" theory more weight thanks to that. And what is with this Silence Will Fall business? And the Silence doing Amy honor? Yes, obviously, there's still a lot here to be unpacked.

Also, Rory! And River! They are both quite hot in their period clothes, and I could watch River Song, AKA Indiana Jones' daughter, shoot aliens all day.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Time Girl is somehow Amy's daughter, though I wouldn't be surprised if she isn't, for some value of 'isn't.' I also feel like the spacesuit is going to regenerate and break out of the TARDIS at some point. Remember that in 200 years the Doctor will say that it's time for him to stop running. In conclusion: this was a skirmish, not the war.
