I think it's a pretty good opera for opera newbs: it's Mozart, so the music is good, but it's not completely comic or tragic, and it's hard, I think, to totally screw it up. As much as I wanted more from the specific portrayal of Giovanni in this production, both me and my friend came away satisfied overall.
