I don't think consolidation was the intention, given that he writes Aigis and 'Ades for aegis and Hades. And it's like--what would the point of that be anyway? It literally took me ten minutes to realize that he was trying to write Chinese with the Greek alphabet--and why not write Hangzhou 'Angzou, then? But given the J in "Ramonojon," it's just bizarre. I don't know. It just doesn't make much sense to me no matter how you slice it.
