xxxHOLiC~Kei Drama CD translation
It's really long, and it makes quite a lot of things clear. Also, I don't think it's possible not to read and become a Yuuko/Clow fan. Too bad he's dead.
xxxHOLic Kei Drama CD 1 ~ Kempai (Offering a drink)
Scene: Yuuko’s shop, the veranda
Night. The full moon is visible.
In the midst of quiet, Yuuko is drinking alone.
The black Mokona is sleeping next to her.
SE: Yuuko puts the wineglass on the veranda.
Yuuko: Watanuki~. The sake is gone already—
SE: Watanuki comes running.
Watanuki: Com—ing. Geez, today the pitch is too fast. It’s always fast, but—
Yuuko: Really?
SE: Watanuki removes the cork from the wine.
Watanuki: This is already the fourth bottle of wine, and they were all red. And you said to say that Mokona makes two. No. Since Mokona is counted as one Mokona, two Mokona, is it one person and one Mokona?
Yuuko: (Amused) Mokona fell asleep already.
SE: Watanuki pours wine into Yuuko’s glass.
Watanuki: Here you go.
Yuuko: Thanks.
SE: Yuuko drinks the wine.
Mokona: (Asleep)
Watanuki: Still, you kept right on with four bottles of wine.
Yuuko: I was just remembering.
Watanuki: What?
Yuuko: When we made the Mokona.
Watanuki: That’s right, I wanted to ask once. Why did you make these meat buns?
Yuuko: (Softly) Because it was necessary. For the sake of things that will happen hereafter.
Watanuki: …Things that will happen?
Yuuko: (Stares at Watanuki) …
Watanuki: Wh, why are you staring at me?
SE: Mokona turns over in its sleep.
Mokona: (Sleep-talking) …Mokona.
Watanuki: Calling its own name in its sleep?
Yuuko: It called the other Mokona.
Watanuki: The white one, right?
Yuuko: Since these little ones can meet in dreams, they can have the same dream, and talk.
Watanuki: Wow. That’s convenient.
Yuuko: Since we knew that these little ones would have to separate.
Watanuki: That’s right, Yuuko-san, you said it. You made the Mokona as a pair. With the person called Clow, wasn’t it?
Yuuko: …Yes. Clow Reed.
[Yuuko’s shop in the past]
The black and white Mokona are in a glass tube in the middle of the room.
Within, it’s filled with liquid.
SE: Sound of the liquid moving.
Clow: We did it, Yuuko.
Yuuko: Indeed. We had a lot of trouble, but it’s all right now, Clow.
Clow: But the two of us spending this much time is a first.
Yuuko: That’s just because these little ones will have an important part to play.
Clow: …Indeed. For the sake of my descendant who will come someday, and for the sake of the one who is the same, but different.
SE: The liquid also roils.
Yuuko: They’re opening their eyes.
SE: The noise comes to an end.
From within the liquid, the Mokona’s still-new voices.
Both Mokona: It’s dazzling.
Clow: Because you’ve just opened your eyes.
Both Mokona: Um, um.
Yuuko: You are Mokona Modoki.
Both Mokona: Mokona Modoki. …Modoki?
Clow: Though we made you, the original was called “Mokona.”
Both Mokona: Mokona. What’s that?
Yuuko: It fits you perfectly. The original was a bit bigger, though.
Both Mokona: A bit bigger Mokona…
Clow: But if you two had the same name, it’d be a little inconvenient, so let’s give you a different name.
Yuuko: That’s right, let’s.
Both Mokona: Names…What names will you give us?
Yuuko: How about calling the white one “white bean paste,” and the black one “black bean paste”?
Clow: …I don’t know about that, Yuuko.
Yuuko: Oh, you have a complaint with my naming sense, Clow?
Clow: Since names have power, let’s give these two names that will become powerful.
Yuuko: There’s full power in white bean paste and black bean paste.
Clow: (Smiling) That’s true. It sounds tasty.
Both Mokona: (They don’t really get it) …Tasty.
SE: Sound of the liquid moving.
Clow: How about “Soel” and “Larg”?
Yuuko: Old magic letters, eh. (Unsatisfied) It has a different air from what I thought, but. (Smiling). But, they’re good names.
Clow: What do you think?
Both Mokona: (Happy) Yeah…we like them.
Clow: Then, the naming ceremony.
SE: Clow and Yuuko both take up positions to use magic.
Clow and Yuuko: Mokona Soel Modoki. Moknoa Larg Modoki.
White Mokona: Soel.
Black Mokona: Larg.
SE: The magic signs disappear.
Yuuko: I look forward to working with you.
Both Mokona: Yeah. Nice to meet you.
Yuuko’s shop, present day.
Yuuko: …Watanuki.
Watanuki: Yes?
Yuuko: What would you do if you were named “Watanuki white bean paste” or “Watanuki black bean paste”?
Watanuki: I would despair of the world.
Yuuko: (Sulking) Why? Aren’t they good names?
Watanuki: In what particular?
Yuuko: (Sulking) Seconds!
Watanuki: Sheesh, you’re selfish.
Yuuko’s shop, same memory
Clow: Soel and Larg have learned a lot since they awakened.
White Mokona: Yup! Clow and Yuuko taught us a lot.
Black Mokona: We read books, and we go out, it’s fun!
Clow: I’m glad.
Yuuko: Well, today’s study then.
White Mokona: Yup.
Black Mokona: What is it?
Yuuko: Soel, go to Clow and come back.
White Mokona: Just Soel?
Clow: I’d like Larg to stay here with Yuuko.
Black Mokona: Why?
Yuuko: You two can meet in dreams and converse, but with your eyes open you can talk mutually even if you separate. Like on the telephone.
White Mokona: Really!
Black Mokona: Sounds fun!
Yuuko: Well then, Soel, without delay, have a nice trip. [TN: Traditional phrase said to someone leaving the house]
White Monona: Right!
After a little while.
Yuuko: It seems Soel’s arrived. So, try talking, Larg.
Black Mokona: Hmm, what shall I say. If it’s like the telephone, it should be like this: “Hello!” [TN: What people say when first answering the phone.]
The black Mokona hears the white Mokona’s voice in its head.
White Mokona: Ah. Larg’s voice is in my head.
Clow: Will you try replying?
White Mokona: Yup. {Hello, hello?}
Black Mokona: Ah. It’s Soel’s voice.
Yuuko: Looks like you’re connected. I’m glad.
Black Mokona. {Yuuko seems happy.}
White Mokona: {Clow seems happy too.}
Black Mokona: {It’s fun that we can talk even if we’re separated.}
White Mokona: {Yup. Really. Let’s talk more. That’s right, about Clow. You know, until we came here, Clow was saying that Yuuko drank too much.}
Black Mokona: {Yuuko, Clow says you drink too much.}
Yuuko: …What did you say?
Black Mokona: {You know, while we were waiting, Yuuko was saying that Clow is a sly pair of glasses.}
White Mokona: {You know, Yuuko said that you’re a sly pair of glasses, Clow.}
Clow: (amused) Ha ha. Is that so?
Black Mokona: {Later, Yuuko was saying that next time she’d hide Clow’s glasses, in the attic.}
White Mokona: {Later, Clow was saying that he’d put some herbs in Yuuko’s liquor and dilute it a little.}
Yuuko’s shop in the present.
SE: Yuuko keeps drinking the wine.
Yuuko: Watanuki. You won’t put herbs in my wine and dilute it, will you?
Watanuki: (Startled) What?! Have you seen people doing that to sake?!
Yuuko: (losing interest) …This is because of the glasses.
Watanuki: The glasses don’t matter, do they?
Yuuko: Clow, who did the same thing, had glasses too.
Watanuki: (a bit relieved at the conversation) This Clow person, what kind of person is he?
Yuuko: A sly pair of glasses.
Watanuki: Again with the glasses!!
Yuuko: It’s not just the glasses, the fact that his cooking was a specialty is the same too.
Watanuki: Really. So Clow-san is a chef.
Yuuko: He was quite talented. He made fondant chocolate for me on February 14th, too.
Yuuko’s store, same memory
Yuuko and Clow are relaxing in a room with a sofa in it.
Both Mokona: Yuuko! Clow!
Clow: What’s wrong, Mokona?
White Mokona: Today is Valentine’s Day.
Yuuko: That’s right. You know a lot.
Black Mokona: I read it in a book.
White Mokona: But there’s something I don’t understand.
Yuuko: Oh, what’s that?
Black Mokona: In this book, it says that Valentine’s Day is related to religion.
White Mokona: In this book, it says that on Valentine’s Day you give gifts to people you love.
Black Mokona: But in this book it says that it’s a day women give chocolate to someone they like.
Both Mokona: Which is right?
Yuuko: They’re all right, and they’re all wrong.
White Mokona: Huh?
Black Mokona: Huh?
Yuuko: It’s the same February 14th, but it has different meanings depending on the person.
Black Mokona: Depending on the person?
Clow: That’s right. And it’s not just February 14th. All year round, different days have different meanings to different people.
White Mokona: That’s difficult.
Clow: Not at all.
Yuuko: One may decide what sort of day it will be. In the world, on days that are said to be anniversaries too, one can not worry, or even if it’s a nothing day to everyone, if it’s an important day to oneself, one can think of it as an anniversary.
Black Mokona: Then what sort of day is February 14th, Valentine’s Day, to you, Yuuko?
Yuuko: (Smiling complacently) It’s a day I eat delicious chocolate.
Clow: (Smiling) A wonderful answer.
SE: Sound of a dish being put on the table.
Clow: I hope this chocolate is fitting for Yuuko’s anniversary.
Black Mokona: Woah!
White Mokona: On the dish, that looks delicious!
Black Mokona: What is it?
Clow: It’s a chocolate cake called fondant chocolate.
White Mokona: Even the name sounds delicious!
Yuuko: Clow’s fondant chocolate is superb.
Clow: Since it’s more delicious if you eat it together with fresh cream, you should certainly eat it with cream.

Yuuko’s shop, the present.
Watanuki: So that’s why you suddenly said you wanted to eat fondant chocolate last February 14th!
Yuuko: (remembering Clow) …That’s right.
Watanuki: But it probably tasted different. Even though I made it looking at the recipe.
Yuuko: He didn’t leave behind a scrap of recipes or notes. He didn’t say the necessary things either.
Watanuki: (Realizing) “He didn’t”…
Yuuko: (Softly) He’s dead.
Watanuki: (Slumping) …I’m sorry. Asking you about those things…
Yuuko: (Kindly) Not at all. It was a long time ago.
Watanuki: …Yuuko-san.
Yuuko: (Brightly) Besides, after he died, just like before he died, he left a heap of problems behind.
Watanuki: Problems?
Yuuko: Lots.
Watanuki: But, the Mokona must have been sad too, that the person who made them died…
Yuuko: Those little ones were sleeping then.
Yuuko’s shop, the past
SE: Sound of a book’s pages turning.
White Mokona: (Yawning)
Black Mokona: (Yawning)
Yuuko comes into the room.
Yuuko: Oh, you’re sleeping.
Black Mokona: …Yeah.
White Mokona: For some reason, we’re really sleepy lately.
Black Mokona: Even if we play outside together.
White Mokona: Even if we’re on Yuuko and Clow’s knees.
Black Mokona: Even if we read an interesting book.
Yuuko comes to the Mokona’s side and strokes them.
Black Mokona: (On the verge of sleep) If you stroke us, we get more sleepy.
White Mokona: (On the verge of sleep) Though I want to read this book.
Clow enters the room.
SE: He walks to the Mokona’s side.
White Mokona: (Really sleeping) Clow…
Black Mokona: (Really sleeping) Yuuko…
Both Mokona: (Big yawn)
While Clow and Yuuko are each holding a Mokona.
Clow: They’re asleep.
Yuuko: …Yes.
Clow: I’m sorry to ask you so many favors.
Yuuko: Even asking them with a completely unregretful face.
Clow: (Smiling) That’s not true, but I guess they don’t show on my face.
Yuuko: Isn’t that because you’re a sly pair of glasses?
Clow: (Laughing)
Clow: The next time these little ones open their eyes, I won’t be here, will I.
Yuuko: ….
Clow looks at Yuuko from the front with a kind expression.
Yuuko: Hm? What is it?
Clow: …Yuuko.
Yuuko: …What.
Clow: Thank you. That I was able to meet you…I was truly happy.
Yuuko’s store, the present
Watanuki seems to feel something in the expression of Yuuko, who is soaked in
memories.
Watanuki: …Yuuko, san.
Yuuko: Hm? What is it?
Watanuki: (Impatient) Oh, um, will you drink another bottle of wine?
Yuuko: Even though you always make a big stink about my drinking too much? Why?
Watanuki: No, today, you said you felt like drinking wine, earlier…
Yuuko: That’s right.
Watanuki: …Um…Can I…um…I’m sorry…
Yuuko: (kindly) There’s nothing you have to apologize for, Watanuki. But since a chance like this might not come again, yes please.
Watanuki: Right!
SE: Watanuki stands up and goes to get the wine.
Yuuko: A good one, please.
Watanuki: The one that’s in the treasure room.
Yuuko: That’s right. The one that’s worth a lot way in the back.
Watanuki: I’ll make snacks on the way.
Yuuko: Yay!
SE: Watanuki is completely gone.
Yuuko: (Smiling) The same even to being considerate, that pair of glasses boy.
SE: Yuuko pours her own wine.
Yuuko’s expression is yearning for the past. Even so, she is smiling.
Yuuko: Red wine was your favorite, but I couldn’t make you drink it. Because you’d already passed away, suddenly.
Yuuko raises her wine glass to the moon.
Yuuko: Right….Clow.
END
So apparently marks of being closely related to Clow Reed include glasses and being good at cooking (paging Fujitaka!). Eriol had glasses too.
And, okay, I guess I spoke a bit too soon: the text is unclear whether Watanuki is the" same as but different" to Clow or Shaoran Jr. But given what we've already heard about Watanuki being closest to Jr., I still tend to assume it's him.
Other than that, we saw that the black Mokona was pals with Yuuko from day 1, making the white Mokona the obvious choice to go on the journey.
Yuuko/Clow AUGH. That is all I have to say.

END
And, okay, I guess I spoke a bit too soon: the text is unclear whether Watanuki is the" same as but different" to Clow or Shaoran Jr. But given what we've already heard about Watanuki being closest to Jr., I still tend to assume it's him.
Other than that, we saw that the black Mokona was pals with Yuuko from day 1, making the white Mokona the obvious choice to go on the journey.
Yuuko/Clow AUGH. That is all I have to say.

And I never felt sad for Clow's death before maybe because he was dead when CCS started but now... well it was sad... maybe because I see it from Yuko's perspective...
Anyway wonderful work and thank you so much for it!
On a sidenote... Would you mind if I were to translate this in Italian for the Italian fan?

Thanks for the translation, I wanted to see what this said so bad.
And yes, Clow-Watanuki references from Yuuko only make our lives more complicated @_@ but even so Watanuki can still be a part of the same family line as Clow and Shaoran...so that goes nowhere.

Thank you SO much for the translation!!
This story was just too cute~ Clow & Yuuko! And Mokona! What more could I ask for? X3
(Artwork, for one, but I'm not complaining... much. The story more than makes up for the lack of artwork.)

I LOVE this cd drama! And I've been shipping Clow/Yuuko ever since I translated the Mokona book! But here there is more said on their relationship, so I love it!
If you allow it, I'll give it a shot at translating this to Spanish as well, from your script and with your permission.
I also wonder about different but the same to whom. And he looks pretty much the same to Clow actually. And Yuuko misses him!!! That's so what I've been waiting for ever since the beginning of Holic! Especially after the mention in the movie of an old love story that was unanswered ^-^
Clow is a git for not saying more!!! I wanted a confession of some kind!!!
Sorry, fangirl ranting over. And all the thanks in the world for you hard work! Arigato gozaimasu!

And fweee~~<3 YuukoxClow. Yay.
(And this also gave me serious WATANUKI IS CLOW vibes, but that can't be right, since the series is already giving us WATANUKI IS R!SYAORAN'S TWIN OR SOMETHING vibes... D:)
Watanuki IS Claw incarnate
