Mokona's ability to go from completely cracked-out to deadly serious at the drop of a hat will never cease to amaze. And Watanuki/Mokona being cute = cute.

OMG another customer. I thought we were done with this tripe...well, either it will be two volumes (including this current one) to the end, or this customer will be the straw that broke the camel's back. Given the implicit ominousness in her coming to see Yuuko, I'm leaning towards the latter.

Especially in context of Clow liking red wine best (FTW, Clow!), Watanuki's dislike of people drinking is beginning to seem pathological. There's no other kikkake (cause) in the text than Watanuki pouring the sake for Mokona to suddenly bring up the memory-thing, so I'm wondering if his thing about sake is a body-memory?

Also, the side-text mentions that xxxHOLiC now has nine million copies in print.

I love Doumeki. He has mastered the ability to mask his concern from Watanuki by switching the subject to food. I just can't get over how insistent he is to make sure that Watanuki values his life.

Bringing up the stuff about body memories seems a bit random, but given that he his heart has forgotten parts of his past...

So does this mean Doumeki also still has a wish, since he's at the shop (right?)?

Perhaps the 'wish' is to simply be close to Watanuki "[w]hen that time comes." And if he is going to be around Watanuki to help him, it is probably to Watanuki and Doumeki's benefit that he (Doumeki) has access to the shop so that he can be around him as often as possible.

Or maybe Doumeki's wish is to shag, I don't know! :P

A seemingly pathological dislike of drinking...

Didn't Watanuki's parents' die in a car crash? Perhaps his parents/whoever was driving was drinking prior to the accident. He loves his parents but knowing that alcohol killed them must've been particularly harsh.

Like Mokona remarked, his heart - or at the very least, his head - may not remember his parents' names and much else, but his body (and subconscious) will remember how it felt to lose parents to an alcoholic related incident.

Maybe Watanuki is just against seeing the people he is really close to drinking alcohol because it took away those especially close to him. At some point, I'm sure he has seen Himawari drink and he has also seen the oba-chan fortune teller drink as well. But he doesn't seem to be as adverse to them drinking as he is with seeing Yuuko and Doumeki.

Maybe Watanuki is suffering from a form of social phobia. Again, he lost his parents who were close to him, I presume. If he feels, even subconsciously, that it is possible to become close to someone in as deep of a manner as with his parents, he'd react violently (with a cat-like freak out according to Himawari's imaginations, LOL). Sure, he is close to Himawari, but not as close as he is with Doumeki and Yuuko, two people that he has freaked out on plenty of times.
