And in my own personal reading experience, if he were just thinking that Iemitsu looks good, I'd have expected him to use a different word.
Though of course he's apparently under the influence of an oni, so who knows. But he doesn't think his own thoughts are strange, so…I don't know. Something to keep an eye on in future chapters.
