Dear Ginsei: Lay off the lithium, man.

I was totally slain by the appearance of Clow and Yuuko in this chapter--I'd assumed that the lack of crossover between TRC/Holic/Wish/Kobato was sacrosanct. Maybe, as outou joked, we really will find out in Kobato what Shaoran did in Hong Kong for two years in CCS.

That Iorogi raised war in heaven is not surprising at all, though, since the manga's been hinting about it for months. Speaking of which, I didn't capitalize "god" since the manga doesn't use デウス or 神様, just 神。I'm also not terribly happy with "masters of otherness," but I wanted to come up with a phrase that fit with the parallelism of the sentence.

P.S. Ginsei/Iorogi Y/Y?

I see the hint to what happened with Hisui and Kokuyo there, plus the info that the war did happen after all and of course Ioryogi was responsible for it. But it also said the crossing of the bridge was 12 years ago. Does that mean Kobato happens during the time Kohaku was asleep?

I was so shocked when I saw Yuuko and Clow there. It was so Clamp to do that, but at the same time we hadn't had any crossovers as you said. This is getting more twisted by the chapter.

If I remember the end of Wish correctly, she slept for 100 years, so I'd assume this is taking place while she's asleep(?).

And yes, twists do seem to be piling up pretty thick lately. I kind of don't mind though, compared to the earlier pacing...

Everyone takes Kohaku as a he since angels are genderless and he slept for 100 years, so yes, that means this happened while he was asleep.

Piling up of facts for a monthly story is something I don't particularly want to see that badly. It means more waiting time for the resolution of any of said facts. If we're having so much trouble waiting on a weekly story, imagine how it would be for something that comes out once a month and with less pages! Especially looking like they're adding so many things and connotations they'll have to explain later.

I have such trouble thinking of Kohaku as a "he"...which probably reveals more about my own mental blocks than about Kohaku.

I don't think "Kobato" is helped by Clamp's generally insane work schedule, but I do tend to think that the whole "drops in the bottle" plotline is being jettisoned. It certainly seems like the chapters end on more "dramatic!" cliffhanger-type moments lately, and that the endings themselves are getting more portentous. But you're right, even if things are moving quicker, that doesn't mean the manga will end quickly.
