I actually picked this song out for this vid before the show even aired--I knew I wanted to make a Peggy vid, and I knew I wanted something that sounded period-ish but had a modern sensibility, which basically meant that Scott Bradlee & Postmodern Jukebox were the first and only artist whose catalog I ransacked. Technically it's a 50s-style big band jazz cover of the female solo version (Ke$ha forever!), but then, the show itself doesn't necessarily have a strong sense of its own historical setting either. Luckily the show lived up to the lyrics, and provided me with the footage needed to make a vid about Peggy punching dudes and being a badass action hero. Punch some more dudes, Peggy!

I love this! I love how the dance metaphor applies to the fight choreography, of Peggy punching people, but also just taking so much delight in punching people, and I also like how the metaphor seems to be talking about how often Peggy has to make the choice to be the hero, because nobody is yelling at her about how it's her responsibility to be a hero, nobody is forcing her to insert herself into these fights, except her own internal voice telling her she has to dance.

I also love how you make use of all the different disguises, all the different versions of Peggy we see.

Thank you! I wanted to start with Peggy in disguise because in many ways the show is about her colleagues finding out what we already know, namely that she's a BAMF. And she does keep getting pulled back onto the dancefloor into the action.

This was great! I am a terrible person who still hasn't seen Agent Carter (I mean, I definitely, definitely want to - it's just I've been ridiculously busy lately) but this definitely pushed it further up the list in terms of urgency. Plus it was great to use this cover of the song - so perfect in terms of tone - modern and historical at once.
