I don't know if CLAMP themselves might have thought to follow this through but think about it this way: Right now, the TRC gang are at the place of the frozen time. To save Sakura and stop FWR they'd need to fix that distortion. Assuming that the distortion is everything after Shaoran Jr. was imprisoned and then it disappeared, his parents would still be alive.
