Newsweek, we're done
Jul. 8th, 2010 09:29We get Newsweek for free because we put our WHYY pledge on a credit card and it's much easier to just take the free subscription that gets you than try to argue with the volunteer to decline the damn thing. I was flipping through the current issue last night and two things jumped out at me:
1. Nikki Haley is described, in the sub-heading of the cover story, as "articulate."
2. The context for a quotation from one of Iceland's cabinet ministers explaining the popular response to the Prime Minister's marrying her girlfriend last week (he said the country has a passion for social justice) is phrased in terms of the Icelandic public's "lack of outrage."
If this is the liberal CW, I despair.
