A lot of things, in haste
Oct. 11th, 2010 11:43I am back home in California and, as usual, rather behind on things I have to do, so here are a few links as a placeholder for more substantial posts.
# As part of Awesome 70s Shoujo Week,
merin_chan has a post about the Kaze no Ki to Uta anime. Great stuff; check it out!
# It's Columbus Day here in the U.S., which is one holiday I would willingly consign to oblivion if I ruled the world. In "honor" of which, I point everyone to my review of 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus. I have a short list of books I would make everyone in this country read if I could; this is one of them.
# Sirens 2010 was awesome! Of which more anon, but in the meantime, the con needs a few more attendees to ensure its future viability. If you like monsters in fantasy literature, and want to hang out with Justine Larbalestier, Nnedi Okarafor, and Laini Taylor for a weekend, you should consider attending next year. In celebration of which, Cat Valente's "A Monstrous Manifesto" seems particularly appropriate.
# And finally: this should be every day of every year.
