( i'm not sure about the name) But for me is really clear that thay can not live without each other specially kirk and Spock, and that's why Kirk always change his status, because he only want to be the hero in the place where things happens on the desk like a captain, and about the glasses, he don't want the surgery exist and is painless, but he is afraid of it so he prefer glasses
Spock and his father and Kirk never have good terms, only in the next movie are some understending, bacause in his own way Spock is an adventured all his life accepting Kholinar implies live in his world and study and meditate so no adventures In the next generation spock try to liberate the romulans of his bad custum of guide by their emotion
