ooh, what a lovely surprise to find a good review of the movie and it's problems (which I feel less alone in comparing to Jack's villain now) after coming back from solstice-weekend celebration with a bootleg showing of it. I agree with the obvious problematic portrayal of the inhuman Vikings, but I also wondered how else they could have possibly handled it, until I saw the comic you linked to. Yeah. Could have been done better. I'm still buying it, and subjecting it to friends and family alike when I get a chance. Because I've seen the book(s) and Newgrange and it broke my head. In a good way.
