While I do think that an inverted version where the boy = nature and the girl = mechanics would be awesome, I have too much heart for Laputa to be terribly critical of it, I'm afraid.
I will say that I love the fact that Sheeta's conscientious objection is rooted in her family, instead of her narrative trajectory being one of repudiating the power she came from. Her parents clearly chose to live simply/rightly, and the turn she uses to object comes directly from her grandmother. <3
