Sitting next to [personal profile] wintercreek in the impostor syndrome panel. Had a great brunch with various people whose internet names I don't know at The Old Fashioned this morning, also had ice cream, hooray!

Last night was the Vid Party. OMG THE VID PARTY WAS AMAZING. [personal profile] damned_colonial and [personal profile] were_duck did such an awesome job, it was so, so, so much fun! [personal profile] wintercreek and [personal profile] laceblade and [personal profile] futuransky and [personal profile] sasha_feather were there at various points as well, and we talked about various fun and interesting things,  and I also managed to convince Mari Kotani and her group of friends to come by by showing them AMVs at dinner (because I ate dinner with them, it was a ton of fun, and apparently my Japanese is not as bad as I had feared it had gotten), and we all had a grand old time. I spoke a little bit about AMVs and probably actually should have said a bit more, but of course people were blown away by "Hold Me Now" and really that's the important thing. (I will convert you all to watching Princess Tutu, mwahaha!) It was really crowded! We will need a bigger room next year, for sure.

I did have to step away from the Vid Party to go mod the Anime & Manga: Teamwork panel. I don't have notes because I was modding the thing, but I think the four of us ([personal profile] rushthatspeaks[personal profile] owlectomy[personal profile] laceblade) did a pretty good job, and the audience were good too--it was reasonably well attended and happily free of cultural essentialism fail. I missed a great opportunity to quote @feministhulk re: the complicity of capitalism in the patriarchy to wrap the panel up, but I have the Ghibli/Miyazaki panel in an hour, money and global marketing are key in that discussion too.

Also I totally managed to spoil myself for the ending of Mission of Honor thanks to an ARC of it being in the Tiptree Auction: utterly predictable (which isn't necessarily something I mind) and also pretty infuriating. David Weber! *shakes fist*

Seriously I can't think the last time I had this much awesome fun in such a concentrated time span. Everyone here is so awesome, it's been so amazing and fun to hang out with all the lovely people I have met since I moved to DW last year, you are all wonderful! I so want to come back next year, it's ridiculously tempting to register for WisCon 35 tonight or tomorrow.
