The short answer is yes, I've thought about it. But I don't think I really have the time or incentive to put the effort into finding a bargain (because I'm looking to spend less than or not more than $800/month total), and apartments seem to require more documentation and rigmarole than getting a room in a house. And frankly, the idea of living with other people does not sound unappealing right at the moment. We'll see whether I feel the same at this time next year, of course.
