Another one for the Check it Notebook! Prester John stories are awesome. Have you ever read Umberto Eco's "Baudolino"? He does a good job of combining meticulously researched historical detail (sometimes too meticulous...) with the fantastic "reality" of Prester John.
Also, monopods are more fun when you call them "skiapods" like they did back then. Just sayin'. ^^
