I mean, planning a Met season is a thing that takes place years in advance, so it's unlikely that something like that Tosca could totally upturn their plans that quickly, I think... I don't know, you're unquestionably right that the response to Tosca will shape the way they think about programming in the future, but I doubt that's the only factor. I think that the popularity of the cinema simulcasts is probably having an even bigger impact on production selection.

In any case, I'll be going to see Nixon in China in a week or two, and I only mind slightly that it's the same Peter Sellars production design from Houston I've already seen on DVD, because that is a fantastic production design.
