They demolished the old pavilion in the center of the mall and put up a new one at the corner of 6th and Chestnut. The new pavilion actually puts the Bell in view of the corner of Independence Hall, which I like, and contains a museum devoted to the Bell and its history as a symbol of freedom. It's actually not a bad museum, but it was built right after the brouhaha over the excavations at the President's House, so it talks about "enslaved African descendants" instead of just saying 'slaves.' The new President's House actually does a much better job of dealing with Washington owning slaves there.
