It's been…geez, almost ten years since I've read Gilgamesh, so. But I think
the names are too close to be coincidental, though this is probably
something I should just ask Johnson at Sirens in the fall. I would class it
as a retelling, I guess, because I do think, through a very fractured
kaleidoscope sort of view, it is playing with the elements of the original
and transforming them into something different (and, imo, cooler).
