I was put off by the mixed reviews, too, but I saw the film and very much enjoyed it. I admit, I welled up a couple times. *sniff* I'll buy it when it comes out on Blu Ray because I'd be happy to revisit it.
The music -- yes, good, noticeably so, but to me invasive at times because it was too -- too -- too something. Maybe just too noticeable. There were a couple moments it pulled me out of the story.
