It's a magical world

See my comment below for a much longer list of my thinking behind that paragraph. I do think it's still possible to mitigate climate change and get out of the resource trap that it and industrial capitalism have put us in, but I think that nothing less than the end of capitalism is going to get us there. And I think that would be an excellent thing, but I also think it would fundamentally remake society to the extent that it would, indeed, be the end of civilization as we know it. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it would be a lot of changes, and probably some very hard ones.
