Oh yeah, S1 had problems--I still agree with what I wrote back in the day, though thinking about it now, I think my thoughts on how they could have handled S1 better have been changed by what we got in S2-S4. And in some respects it's totally artificial to draw a line between the shows, I love them both. But I got to thinking about all this stuff and why when people asked me I said I thought Korra was better, and then it all made sense when I thought about it in terms of children's lit versus YA, for example.
