Yeah, I really appreciated that aspect of the antagonists. Even Zahir--and Kuvira too for that matter--are shown to be people with romantic relationships even while they're doing some pretty terrible things. And even Unalaq, the most frankly megalomaniacal one of them all imo, had a reason for his actions, at least at the beginning.
I didn't even talk about how the show as just a constant montage of ladies fighting in so many badass ways. SO MANY WOMEN FIGHTING OMFG.
