Most Successful
Most Fun to Make
Anti-Hero, probably. Somehow I'd never vidded Taylor Swift before, but making a Taylor Swift vid definitely feels like A Real Vidder™ qualification, and the idea came together pretty easily. And then people liked it a lot, which is always nice.
Hardest Vid to Make
Anti-Hero, improbably. I really just tossed this vid off in about a week, but I seem to have struck a cord. Also, let's be real, it's Taylor Swift.
Most Fun to Make
Anti-Hero, probably. Somehow I'd never vidded Taylor Swift before, but making a Taylor Swift vid definitely feels like A Real Vidder™ qualification, and the idea came together pretty easily. And then people liked it a lot, which is always nice.
Hardest Vid to Make
I felt like I waited too long to make Never Tear Us Apart--I probably should have made it in the throes of fannish obsession and then just waited to premiere it. The reception was muted too, which is fine, but always a bit sad in an otherwise huge fandom. Of course, it was good I put it out when I did, and who knows what S3 will be like, or whether anyone will watch vids for it given everything with NG. I for one still have a plan for an S3 Aziraphale vid, and I'm not letting Neil have Good Omens when it belong as much to PTerry and to all of us. But I certainly don't fault anyone who evaluates the situation and feels differently.
The Things I Learned This Year
I've been concentrating on my Festivid for the last week or so and I've forgotten so many little things, it's clear that only making two vids in one year is too few vids to keep myself in vidding trim. I have a lot of ideas! I need to make time in 2025 to sit down and work towards executing them consistently.
Planning for Next Year
This year was even fewer vids than last year, a bummer! It was for a good reason, but I need to get back on the horse and so I will say for four vids for 2025. I also was listening to my vidding playlist in the rental car the other day and I found it stale for the first time in forever, so it's clear that I also need to sit down and go through my lists of vid ideas and either chuck some permanently or reconfirm/rejuvenate others.
