In the storehouse at the fortuneteller’s house, Kohane turns to Doumeki with a sincere look and asks a question. What she wants to know is the truth about her important person—

Kohane asks if Watanuki and Doumeki weren’t on good terms from the beginning. Doumeki doesn’t deny it. Then, since when have they had the relationship they do now…?

It was a rainy day.

Doumeki was walking home from school with his umbrella raised. He caught sight of Watanuki standing in the riverbed. He was soaking wet and his eyes were unfocused, and he had something like a fur pelt grasped in his arms. Watanuki said, “In this way I’ll die too. Alone.”

It seems Kohane understands. It’s a difference between her and the person closest to her. Since that day Watanuki wasn’t alone, but Kohane was alone until now. Doumeki puts his hand on Kohane’s head with a pop: “Since you’re here too.” Kohane: “If that’s true, I’m happy. But since I don’t have the power of purification anymore. There’s something you’re carrying.”
The stone egg Yuuko handed over. Doumeki nods. Kohane: “Please…take care of Kimihiro-kun. Somehow, don’t hesitate. Even if that moment comes.” She takes on Yuuko’s appearance.

Doumeki closes his eyes and grips Kohane’s hand tightly in return.

Finally we might be getting into who exactly Watanuki is and what he was doing before the memory loss.

Also though we never see him eating food no one [ie Himawari and Doumeki] has commented on it. Plus if he's human he really should be eating. Do you think it's a price? He never remembers eating food so he can never enjoy it? He's a good cook so that would probably be something important to him.

Yeah, the food thing is interesting. More than his not eating (or remembering eating) food, I think it's possibly a signifier of the fact that he doesn't (fully?) exist in the real world. In my own view Kohane is closest to W in terms of experience, while "Shaoran" Jr. is closet to him in some other way (possibly having to do with Jr.'s time having been rewound).
