starladyGod, Newtype is pretty. Not quite pretty enough that I can't not sell the ones I've collected this year, though. Anyone interested?
And, unsurprisingly,chibiyuuto was right; some chapters are stretched over two months. This is indeed the real Drop 8, it says so on the splash page (which is very pretty).

So the bear has a name, and a winged servant. For the record, the name is written 玄琥、"Occult + Jeweled utensil," with compounds suggesting that the jewel should be thought of as amber.
The children obviously love Kobato, and they are cute, though the one saying that he'd trounce the yakuza at the end is a bit much.
I was going to write "chicken" both times on page 09, and then decided against it. Though I suppose I could have taken a page out of the Klingon book and written "burnt bird meat" for 焼き鳥, too, which would have gotten the pun across.
On a related note, I feel like Ioryogi swallowed an incomprehensible pill today, or at least untranslateable. I understand what he's saying, but finding decent English for it? took way too long.
