I am in love with this book already, I have to admit. Anyone who loved Oz (particularly Ozma; she was always my favorite, way more so than Dorothy--I could never understand why DG wanted to go back to Kansas, and completely approved her decision to relocate the family to Oz permanently in the fourth book) will, I suspect. I also really love it when characters are named after days of the week and/or months of the year.

I probably had something more/deeper to say than that, but since I stupidly returned my copy of Marjorie Garber's Vested Interests without copying down the quotation on which I was going to hang a post about Chabon, Miéville, and women in detective fiction, I am stymied. So just go read about Fairyland.
