My, what a sad sad chapter. The parallel with the girl's situation and Watanuki's is really evident, now that I've understood what they're saying to each other. And boy, am I glad that my theory about Watanuki being the Crimson Pearl was wrong.

Now, this pearl seems to be born out of sadness and loneliness, two negative feelings. We couldn't expect anything else from Jorougumo's wish, could we?
