Still thinking about Yuletide

You know what helps with the pre-assignment jitters? Wine, and writing research papers. 

So today, via senmut, this post by elf on Yuletide changes was pointed out to me. I'm not sure I agree with all of it, but it's definitely worth a read. 

ETA: as usual, wistfuljane brings the cogent commentary; I highly recommend This Is Not a Love Song. It also contains links to the commentary the vidders wrote about the vid I mention next, which is vital to read. /eta

On the happier side, if you haven't seen the One Night Fandoms vid by thingswithwings and eruthros, you totally should, because it is made of love and totally represents the best of the Yuletide experience. 

And finally, naraht's How to Have Fun at Yuletide should be required reading for the challenge.

OH MAN NARAHT'S! I think I read that and liked it then, but I had forgotten how awesome it is.

Also the vid! I've showed it to every person in my family who dared to ask what 'yuletide' meant when I said I was doing it. IT'S EXCELLENT.
