I hope the rest of the States is digging out of Fimbulwinter okay…

[personal profile] jesuswasbatman on Buffy Season 8 - highly critical, but a highly intelligent review that's well worth a read even if you haven't followed the comics.

[livejournal.com profile] merin_chan, An Open Letter to the Vocaloid program Hatsune Miku - I still can't figure out what to say to this other than, "Yeah!" The cutting edge is so sharp we're all bleeding, some of us pixels, others of us hæmoglobin.

[personal profile] talitha78 with three random vid recs (Toy Story, Sherlock, Merlin), all excellent. (True story: I got into a vid death spiral the other night (you know how it goes) and wound up watching some Arthur/Merlin vids, and all I could think was that the guy who plays Arthur looks like the guy who plays Peter Pevensie, and the guy who plays Merlin looks like Skandar Keynes, who plays Edmund Pevensie. Yeah.)

On the TWC Symposium blog, Alex Jenkins asks, The Social Network Fandom: RPS of Professional RPF? - This was a really good, smart dissection of Sorkin, fandom, power, gender and storytelling.

Oooh, all those links look delightful! The real reason I am commenting, though, is to tell you that once a few years ago when I was briefly genuinely hooked on Merlin, I decided to have a rewatch of the Narnia films on the same day a new Merlin ep came out, and my brain nearly exploded. Which is to say, yes, Arthur and Peter, and Merlin and Edmund, look distractingly similar.
