Japan, more information

I doubt this will be very orderly, but it's all important information.
# The NHK is streaming live here in Japanese. (I am learning a lot of technical vocabulary.) NHK World, in English, is streaming here. The Japanese coverage is simultaneously more precise, grimmer, and more matter-of-fact, in my opinion. This is the worst disaster to strike Japan since 1945, and the ongoing situation at Fukushima #1 is arguably the second-worst nuclear disaster in history.
# Speaking of Fukushima #1, there was an explosion at reactor #3 about 50 minutes ago local time. The IAEA is the single best English-language source on what's going on with the reactors. Of Fukushima #2's four reactors, two are still not being adequately cooled at this time.
# The New York Times has dumbfounding, interactive before-and-after pictures from GeoEye.
#
azuire has an important post with lots of information here;
megwrites also has a useful links round-up.
# Finally, a word on charities: please only donate to those NGOs which currently have a way to funnel their money directly to Japan. The Japanese Red Cross may be donated to directly here. Via my undergrad sensei, who polled her friends in Japan, you may also donate to the NGO JEN here, and to Japan Platform here.
Please signal-boost this post and/or these charities if you can.
