starladySo a few general notes: thank you for agreeing to write a story in a fandom we both love, or at least remember fondly! I'm genuinely interested to see what caught other fans' interests about all of these sources, so please don't feel that my prompts are too binding. I'd rather have an inspired story than slavish devotion to my requests. If you're looking for more of a sense of me and my tastes, skimming through the last twenty entries on my DW will probably give you a good idea; most of the entries in general are unlocked.
I hesitate to say what I do or don't like in fic--I don't have any major squicks, and no firm principles as to what I will or won't read. That said, it's my general sentiment that Kaleidoscope is not the place to go looking for PWP, at least for me; which isn't to say that I wouldn't want sexytimes, as it were, in any story you write, but which is to say that I generally like my sexytimes to go along with plot and/or characterization. And as you may have guessed from these requests, I do really like women being awesome. In some ways, really, my own fanworks demonstrate both these preferences very well.
GATE 7(ゲート セブン) | Gate 7
- Fanwork Types: Fanfiction, Fanart, Graphics
- Details: Oh, this fandom. Basically I want fic about the moment when Chikahito realizes he's completely in love with Hana, regardless of hir gender. Or about Chikahito learning to adjust to Kyoto (the real Kyoto, not the one in his head), or the epic kink that is Akechi and Date's relationships with their oni, whatever is cool.
On the graphics or fanart front, I'd love icons of the manga! I do love CLAMP's art uncolored, but I haven't found very many (any) good icons of the characters in B&W. As for fanart, something featuring Hana and Chikahito (eating noodles)? Hana kicking butt? I will be happy with anything.
Further notes: I love this manga so much, between the prettiness and the fact that it's set in Kyoto and the fact that it's about revived warlords from the late middle ages dueling it out for the strongest power in the world!…or something. I have to admit that I would totally not mind a PWP fic in this fandom, because as far as I can tell the kink practically leaps off the page, with just about every character, though I do find the emotional heart of the story so far to be Chikahito and Hana's connection, and I'd love to see something exploring their relationship. Um. Am I being helpful at all? Anything at all would be awesome, that's all I'm saying.
Resources: As it happens, I've translated the entire manga! There are scanlations around too; I think Fail Manga is using my translations. Official translations will start later this year.

- Details: I'm interested in that interval between Cindi's consciousness of her mission and her being sent back to the Palace of Dogs, but really, anything exploring this verse and its characters, or Cindi's effect on other people at either end of the time stream, would be amazing.
Further notes: Cindi Mayweather, black female android messiah. Only she can save us now. The details do what it says on the tin, really.
Dhalgren - Samuel R. Delany

- Details: The garden of the year has stuck in my mind ever since I first read the book. A short fic where the characters find themselves in it again, perhaps? Or, honestly, whatever.
Further notes: In some ways I'm more interested in the setting of Bellona than in the characters of the novel: how do other people experience the cityscape, what's it like for them or for the actual characters to navigate its weird geography? This is my "out there" request, I admit, so I mean it all the more when I say to write to your inspiration.
