One of the panels I enjoyed most at FOGcon was "Mutations, Their Gifts and Betrayals: Embodiment in the World(s) of the X-Men" (not even because one of my friends proposed it)--it was actually really interesting. Being me, I made more than a few comments during the discussion (though I virtuously did not bring up mpreg as Charles Xavier's secondary mutation, I'm quite virtuous), and afterward, when we were walking back to the BART, troisroyaumes and epershand were both like, "Dude, I didn't realize you'd read so many X-Men comics!" and I was forced to explain that no, I haven't read hardly any of the comics (except for Marvel 1602, which copperbadge rightfully and hilariously savaged in this recent post), just the Wikipedia articles, at a scary and obsessive depth.

"Well, you sounded like you knew what you were talking about!"

That is my stock in trade. (Though I did watch almost all of the X-Men: Evolution cartoon, which was actually pretty good.)

I enjoyed the X-Men Evolution cartoon. Mostly because it showed that things are complicated and peoples beliefs can change...I think. It was years ago that I watched it, but I remember I thought it was much better than the original X-Men cartoons of my youth.

Yeah, the 80s one was really terrible, as the gif sets floating around Tumblr have reminded me. But I liked Evolution a lot overall.

I'm going to sit here and feel pleased at the thought of you carefully not saying that mpreg is Charles's secondary mutation. And possibly I will take just a little credit for helping give you that idea. :D

Oh, how I wish I could have been at that panel! I would have written you little notes about Charles and his mutant uterus. (That is the best sentence I have written all day, for the record.)

You should take all the credit. You should also consider giving the dragon an X-Men middle name, I say. =)

Well, I was sitting next to Molly, and I asked her whether I should raise my hand and mention it, and she said "No" and then we giggled about it to ourselves, very maturely. Oh, Charles.

I wish I could have attended FOGCon! I would love to meet you (and others), and that panel sounds like great fun.

Well, Twitter has just informed me that there will be a FOGcon 3, so you should totally come next year! I will be there, and I will do my best beforehand to make sure that the overall level of panel fun is higher this time around.

i didn't know you write for Xmen!

i will go and read your things. I write only in star trek, but i love Xmen since i was a teenager and i loved last movie specially because of my Charles/Erik like my Professor X/Magneto :D my other fav pairing is Rougue/Gambit and some Logan/Jane Gray.

Yeah, I've written a few things - the story at the top is actually the sequel to the first one I wrote. Oh Charles and Erik, their love is so epic.
