starlady: ((say it isn't so))

I had the eye exam from hell this afternoon. It took ninety minutes, the student was clueless and kept consulting with the condescending doctor, they kept all the doors open so the entire building is basically a HIPAA lawsuit waiting to happen, they kept shining bright lights in my eyes, and it cost $205 in the end - more than I was told (by the clueless student) that it would - but the follow-up will be a "no-charge visit!" Hoo boy! The receptionist was a moron too. I was so angry. I have worked in doctor's offices and had a really good vision doctor before I moved out here to California and I know that none of that is how it should be. I just want my vision benefit to pay for my contact lenses, is that too much to ask? I will use the benefit to pay for contacts this time, because I went through all this rigamarole, but I never want to go back there again if I can help it. At least not until I am on my way out to greener pastures and cash out the benefit on a new pair of glasses. Argh.

But! I went for a nice long run and then I made pie crust and then pie and I has a kuwdora and tomorrow is Thanksgiving and the parade and I am happy. And I do now have contacts that correct for my astigmatism, so I can actually see better, so that's something that's good. And I am reading Twilight Robbery and it is grand.

Catch you on the flip side.
