IMAX 3D. Star Trek Into Darkness here I come!

2D, like God and JRRT intended.

I'm not, because of Reasons that I may or may not elaborate on in the comments.

Because of Reason, in fact, partly (it turns out that I have to be present for bedtime or things go awry; she's too little to wait up for me, which she's otherwise inclined to do). We may rent it later to watch chopped up over several nights so that I may snark in the comfort of my home.

How about "I dunno"?

It depends on if there are RL people who get up enough momentum that I am dragged out of the house in their wake, really. Otherwise I will probably not get around to it until it's on DVD, unless fandom really, really sells me on it. (From what I've seen of the visuals it doesn't really look like it's going to be much like the Hobbit in my head, and I do already know the story and all, so I'm not in a tearing hurry to see it.)

I won't see it until it comes out on DVD. Movies on a big screen give me migraines that last for days and are not worth it. The last movie I saw in the theater was the first Harry Potter movie, and I regretted it for three days.

I only say 2D because my local theater doesn't do 3D and I can't afford to go to a more expensive one tbh. ;3;

I picked 2D and 3D because I have the option of both at my local theaters and will take whichever I can get into.

3D gives me headaches =(. And sometimes nausea, depending on the movie.

3D tends to give me headaches and/or motion sickness. Plus, to me, it feels gimmicky and actually distracts me from the story rather than further immersing me in it.

There's no IMAX in my state, so standard issue 3D it is for me. :)

It got terrible reviews, so I'll wait until it comes out on DVD.

IMAX HFR 3D on Monday - being in Manchester means not having to choose. And then 2D on Boxing Day because the family are traditionalists.

I have zero interest in seeing movies in anything but 2D. Maybe someday something'll come along that's brilliantly made for 3D and that I want to see badly enough that I'll consider it, but that has yet to happen.

Yep, same here. I just really have no interest in seeing 3D movies. I'm not anti-3D just...don't see the point.

I voted for both 2D and won't be seeing it, because for right now my plans are the latter, but I may get curious and watch it when it comes out on DVD, idk. I never did watch all of the original LotR movies because they are too long, and The Hobbit is extra too long because it's one small book being drawn out into three movies (whereas at least LotR had a reason for being long), so I'm already side-eyeing it for that.

Not going to go into the rant on Why I Think Peter Jackson Was So Wrong About LotR That I Refuse To See The Hobbit, but that phrase about sums it up.

I'm still up in the air about whether or not I'll see it in theatres, but if I do, it'll be 2D. Everything else makes me ill. :(

No, wait, I should have checked IMAX 3D as well because yes, indeed: Star Trek Into Darkness here I come!

I do want to see it in 2D as well. I'm hoping for a fun romp, plus Gandalf, Radagast, and, of course, Martin "Bilbo" Freeman, w00t!

I mostly hate 3D and find it uncomfortable (I wear glasses) and distracting. I am sort of hoping to go with friends, except the friends I want to go with may not being going with anyone else because half of them are expecting to hate it and have had bad experiences with expressing honest opinions on PJ's LOTR (I, otoh, totally want to hear him shred it, because each trailer has made me sadface a little more, and I'm not nearly as vested in anything Middle Earth as he is).

If I go to see it, it will be after checking with everyone else about the vertigo-inducing properties of the movie, and then I'll see it in 2D on a smallish screen or wait for DVD. I only go to the cinema about once a year because of all this fuss, plus the cinema is two hours away by car.

I've managed not to see any 3D movies yet because I go to the movies so rarely anyway. But the Hobbit I'm particularly planning not to see because...

Well, seriously, three movies? How do you even?
