Trying to finish borrowed books, so I picked up Georgette Heyer's Sylvester, borrowed from my friend O, and Elizabeth Marie Pope's The Perilous Gard. Have not really gotten far enough into either of them to have substantive comments yet.
What I've just read
I picked up and finished Karen Lord's Redemption in Indigo, which I enjoyed very much as a kind of oral yarn. It kept not going where I was expecting, which was mostly refreshing.
What I'll read next
I just re-tooled my to-read pile to include most of the books I own that are unread and on the 2013 Sirens staff reading list. I also entered the brave new world of purpose-buying e-books and acquired Cat Valente's Six-Gun Snow White, though I also have the Bloodchildren anthology and at least one other e-book lurking on my tablet. I will probably read Bloodchildren next, in an attempt to get people to buy it before it becomes unavailable (which will be June 22, Octavia Butler's birthday).
