Who needs sleep?

I'm reading for my qualifying exam (April 16 at 9am Pacific time) and I seem to have gotten into a spell in which I only need about six hours of sleep a night. It's lasted for about the past week or so, and yes I still need a lot of coffee, but that's pretty much constant now. The last time this happened was the summer of 2011, when I lived in Japan and went for about three weeks being awake for more than 18 hours a day. I thought then that it was because there was so much ambient light in my apartment, but I also think, now, that going running a lot has something to do with it too. I have been going running a lot, and evidently there's some kind of equilibrium between running and sleep.
That said, it would be better, probably, if I weren't spending at least three of those extra hours reading due South fanfic, but on the other hand, the fact that I am spending so much time reading due South fanfic probably has a lot to do with the fact that I'm still keeping my head above the water. For certain values of that last, of course; I really don't know what day of the week it is most of the time, and my normally excellent organizational and logistical skills are definitely taking a hit. I'll be very glad when this is all over. Also non-coincidentally I have gotten into hockey, because there is a lot of good hockey going on at the Olympics right now and because the fic I read that got me into all of this was Dira's Hawks and Hands.
So, yeah. I'm still alive, and I miss all of you (though I am faithfully reading my DW circle, I assure you). And if you have recs for due South fic, send them my way! (Disclaimer: I am probably not going to read it if it isn't F/K.) I'm already aware of Dira's fic and speranza's and Aria's, but I'm sure there's much more excellent stuff out there.

Date: 2014-02-19 02:40 (UTC)The two stories I podficced for that fest are also brilliant: Sweeter for the Wait, by Spuffyduds, which is a bit kinky, and Detente, by Sena.

Date: 2014-02-19 13:22 (UTC)due South is perfect comfort fic, isn't it? But I haven't even finished watching the series because I strongly felt that it had jumped the shark with the introduction of RayK. /guilty
(not because of RayK at all, I just didn't like the style, pacing and athmsphere changes much.)

Date: 2014-02-20 02:41 (UTC)I wrote some, but most of it was F/V. I did do a collab with Pares called "The Whole Enchilada". It's on AO3. I definitely rec ALL of her stuff.
Re not sleeping: that sounds like hell to me, but you seem to be okay with it? I hope?
