Since Sakura said she met "us," I'm willing to bet she dreams about Kinomoto Sakura's Li Shaoran in the next chapter. Are we about to find out what he went back to Hong Kong for? I wouldn't bet against it...

P.S. Damn straight they better change the future, if after all this freaking angst the two of them don't meet!

So Junior and R|Sakura really were destined to enter the tube instead of the clones. (I would actually consider this another point in favor of Sakura being cloned after the time rewind, since Clow did make a point of telling his daughter that she could change the future.)

The thing is, how would they have entered it in the first place? Did Yuuko put them there, or did Fei Wang? And for what purpose?

Also, is it wrong for me to think that Xiaolang's mysterious two years in Hong Kong were spent preparing to live in Japan with his childhood sweetheart for the rest of his life? I doubt his family would have been too pleased, and there's the difficulty of immigrating to consider (though I know little about Japan's immigration policies, so I could be wrong there).

Oh, yeah, Japan's immigration policies are ridiculously exclusive. It's virtually impossible to become a special permanent resident, let alone a citizen, if one is not ethnically Japanese--and additionally, Shaoran and Sakura would have real trouble since a husband is customarily head of household, but heads of household are not customarily foreigners (I think it's now legal for wives to be head of household, but if so it's a very recent development, and I think it's still illegal for foreigners).

But in one of the Clamp in Paris reports I saw that Ohkawa said the question of what Shaoran was doing in Hong Kong was going to be answered "very soon," which is why I'm bringing it up now.

This whole tube business, I can't even keep it straight anymore. It's hard to remember that these chapters are taking place in the past, too. So I guess the fact that it is/was/will be the clones in the tube is proof that they managed to change the future, at least a bit?

To be exact, Ohkawa said that "the matter of what Li Shaolan did in Hong Kong might soon be revealed in another manga", and I think those of us who know the last japanese chapters have deduced this comment concerns TRC.

I hope the official Japan Expo will post a video of the conference, because it was a really nice one, trust me. You gotta see them doing a picture of Yuuko and Watanuki, live on stage, it was incredible

...I bet CLAMP is going to trick us and show what Xiaolang did in Hong Kong in Kobato. XD

I saw the drawing, but not a video of them drawing it--did they actually do a base sketch first, or was it all freehand?

Considering that Xiaolang only spent about two years in Japan, made no outstanding contribution to its society, and couldn't marry Sakura, it's a wonder that he was able to secure permanent residence.

If Xiaolang's time in Hong Kong was spent assisting or preparing to assist his alternate self, then how would he have done so? I can't imagine what he could give--his magical powers weren't anywhere near what Syaoran and Sakura demonstrated while piecing together the worlds--but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

What's hard for me to keep in mind is that these chapters are not only taking place in the past, but in the future, as well. I think that Fei Wang actually foresaw the time loop and used it to his advantage, without realizing that the clones would try to break it.

Most of the long-term foreign residents I know are there on employment visas, which their employers keep renewing. The self-employed have to scrounge up different visas every time--one international marketing consultant I know is on a "cultural affairs" visa atm thanks to a client of his and some volunteering he does for a different organization. It's nuts.

It wouldn't surprise me if FWR foresaw the time loop--he certainly seems to be able to think in three (or four) dimensions without much trouble, though I too keep forgetting that these chapters have both already happened and haven't happened yet relative to the interrupted showdown with FWR.
