The Questions
Favorite
You know, I feel like it's probably either You and Me or Growing Up. Both are a bit rough around the edges but they have a lot of my heart in them and that makes me happy.
Least Favorite
None, I'm happy with all of them.
Most Successful
YouTube tells me it's Growing Up! I learned about YouTube hashtags in August and I think that one was helped by it.
Most Unappreciated by the Universe
I thought Wait for Me would be more popular, honestly. Ah well, maybe it'll have a resurgence when Hades 2 is released.
Most Fun to Make
Sailing for Adventure was a bit madcap--I had like 12 days and every time I watched it I said "Faster! More intense!" and cut another 15% of the clips I'd put down. You and Me was, again, just decanting my deep Star Wars id down into visual form, so that was fun. And I also enjoyed making Cry for Loki, because the song choice was very pleasing to me and I think I did some clever things at a few points.
Hardest Vid to Make
Honestly, Growing Up felt like pulling teeth at times. I could not get the intro quite right for so long and I know I got too wedded to certain clips at a few points later on, making it hard to go back and change them. But I persevered and I'm glad of it.
The Things I Learned This Year
YouTube tags! Soon I will be unstoppable! Also, I'm getting better at making subtitles available from the start, which is good for multiple reasons.
Planning for Next Year
I'm still kind of surprised I made seven vids this year. I have other things to do that conflict directly with vidding, and I basically turned to doing them in August, and I need to finish those up next month, but I also have a list of vids to make for the cons in 2023 and I've even clipped for some of them already. My goal for 2023 stands at six, as usual, and I think that's doable. I would really like to get to FanWorks but I don't think it's in the cards this year, and maybe not next year either. 2025? And VidUKon in 2026? Well, I will make both of those happen someday.
And now back to the Festivids mines.
