First off, business! Thanks to all of you who responded to yesterday's poll--as you've noticed, I have now re-organized the translation-related tags, so hopefully they are much more searchable and easy to use. I gave in to laziness and kept all the spoilers together in one tag, which seemed fitting since the Holic spoiler has quit his/her job.
Second, while I have no intention of leaving LJ at any point, given what's gone down on the business end of the operation in San Fran this week (and apparently earlier in Moscow?), I feel it prudent to point out that I do have the same username at InsaneJournal. I back up my journal every so often with the wonderful freeware Mac program
xjournal , which I recommend to all of you fellow Apple-head LJers out there; should the site ever go fft!, I will resume operations (and eventually repost all old entries) at IJ.
Without further ado...

The rumored high-tension comic once again!
Horitsuba Private Academy!
We're awaiting the new year event with pounding hearts!
Yuui: This is Japanese New Year cuisine.
It's placed in beautiful lacquer boxes.
Watanuki: They're called "stacked boxes."
With the meaning that what is packed into the stacked boxes is "piled up" with love,
It's something that bears an omen.
With the same meaning, to refill the New Year food is considered well.
{TN: The kanji for "stacked" is the same as in "pile up."}
Doumeki: Since you mention it,
Seconds.
FX: EMPTY!
Watanuki: Seconds of what!
That wasn't New Year's food, was it, wholly all the more!
-----------------------------------------------
!!! page 02
Yuui: These are preserved foods,
They're amazing.
Watanuki: It's so that we can rest for the three days of the new year.
BUT!
Mokona: More mochi--!
Mokona: More liquor--!
Watanuki: Why do I have to attend school and work at a banquet in the chairman of the board's room from January 1st!
FX: Lined up
Label: Huge under-table heater
Yuuko: It's fine, isn't it!
Everyone can hang out early in the new year.
Right?

!!! page 03
Himawari: Yes.
We're able to see everyone in kimono,
right?
Sakura: Yes,
Really.
FX: Sharp snapping
Sakura: You look wonderful too, Shaoran-kun.
Shaoran: No,
Um, this
FX: Blushing
Shaoran: My brother let me wear this.
Yuui: Mine too.
FX: Looking around
Sakura: Now that you mention it, where's Prof. Fay?
FX: GRAND ENTRANCE
Ta-da!
Fay: I've made you wait--!
-----------------------------------------
!!! page 04
Fay: I tried wearing a kimono too--!!
Well, well? Does it look good?
Shaoran & Watanuki: Huh?
Fay: The maid outfit was vetoed by Prof. Kuro-pi,
So this time I secretly made things move along--!
FX: Ah ha ha! {Chuckles}
Sakura/Himawari FX: Kya~ kya~ kya~
Kurogane FX: SHATTER
Kurogane: Madam Chairman!
Don't let him do strange things when students are present!!
Yuuko: Oh,
It's not me.
I leant the kimono, but--
Kurogane: That this guy can wear this sort of thing...
--------------------------------------
!!! page 05
Syaoron: It was me.
Kurogane: ....
FX: Spinning around
Fay: I want to do that or something--
Himawari: It looks good.
Sakura: So cute--
Doumeki: You really can tie an obi.
FX: Hmm
Syaoron: Really?
Mokona: It can be untied immediately, though--
Shaoran: Just like my brother!
Yuuko: There--!
FX: Spinning around
Fay: The board chairman is flirting--
Oh--
That--
Kurogane: ..........
FX: Kya~ kya~ kya~ kya~
FX: Plop

Date: 2009-01-11 21:39 (UTC)The names in the Horitsuba drama cds are given like this:
Fai: the Science Professor, our Fai. He's the second born twin.
Yuui: the Home Economics Professor. He's the first born twin. He came to the school from France and he's a chef. He's quiet as contrasting with his little brother.
Syaoran: the first, the clone. He's timid and gullible and the second born twin.
Syaoron: the second, the original. The first born twin, so Syaoran calls him niisan. He's forward and mischievous, he likes playing tricks, he looks more serious than he is. He's trying to bring his little brother and Sakura together. And I call him Jr. as well! ^^
This names were all given as it is in the third Horitsuba drama cd, when Yuui first appeared. I hope that helps you.
Thanks again for the translations, as always ^o^
